‘Everyone has ambitions’ – Liverpool target Diomande refuses to rule out Leipzig exit
RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande has opened the door to a big-money transfer,admitting he wants to play at the "highest level" after being linked with Liverpool.
Diomande recorded 22 goal involvements for Leipzig in 2025-26across all competitions, scoring 13 goals and assisting nine for team-mates.
The Ivory Coast international registered 20 of those goal contributions in the Bundesliga (12 goals, eight assists), as Ole Werner’s team finished third.
Diomande attempted (213) and completed (118) the most dribbles in the Bundesliga, also recording the most take-on ending carries (104) and carries ending in a chance created (32).
Michael Olise (eight goals, 10 assists) was the only player to better Diomande’s six goals and seven assists immediately following a carry.
Liverpool are among several European giants to be linked with the 19-year-old, with the Reds seeking attacking reinforcements as Mohamed Salah prepares to leave the club.
Asked about those links in an interview with Kicker, Diomande noted that he remains content at Leipzig, where he has a long-term contract to run until 2030, but also highlighted his lofty ambitions.
"I’m not thinking about that at the moment," he said. "I’m under contract in Leipzig and I enjoy playing here. But nobody knows what will happen after that.
"Everyone has ambitions, including me. My dream is to play at the highest level possible."
