Strasbourg name O’Neil as Rosenior successor

Gary O’Neil has been announced as Strasbourg’s new head coach, following Liam Rosenior’s departure for Chelsea.

The former Bournemouth and Wolves boss was swiftly appointed, just over 24 hours after Rosenior left the Ligue 1 side for Stamford Bridge.

O’Neil, who has been out of work since leaving Wolves in December 2024, takes over with Strasbourg occupying seventh place in the French top flight.

The 42-year-old will oversee training for the first time with his new club on Thursday, before his opening match against Avranches in the Coupe de France two days later.

Strasbourg president Marc Keller added:"I am very happy to welcome Gary O’Neil to Racing. He is a demanding and respected coach, with a modern approach to football that fits perfectly with our sporting project."
